Where We Grind Stumps
Based in Nashville, working the city's own neighbourhoods daily and the metro towns on scheduled days - with honest drive times rather than a circle drawn on a map.
The Nashville Neighbourhoods We Grind Stumps In Daily
Davidson County is the core of this business and most days we do not leave it. East Nashville and Five Points, Lockeland Springs, Inglewood, Germantown, Salemtown and Buena Vista, Sylvan Park, The Nations, 12 South, Belmont-Hillsboro, Hillsboro Village, Wedgewood-Houston, Green Hills, Bellevue, Antioch, Woodbine and Glencliff, Bordeaux, Whites Creek and Joelton, Charlotte Park and West Nashville. Those are not a list of postcodes we will drive to; they are the neighbourhoods whose alleys, gate widths and soil we already know.
Inside the county the work divides roughly three ways. Pre-war grid neighbourhoods where access is the whole problem, postwar ranch suburbs where seventy-year-old maples are failing over old plumbing, and the rural north and west where properties are unsewered and the flat sunny spot the homeowner points at is frequently the drain field.
Metro Towns We Grind Stumps In, and the Real Drive
Outside Davidson we cover fourteen towns, and the truthful thing to say is that they are not all twenty minutes away. Donelson is twelve to eighteen minutes and slots between other jobs easily. Madison, Hermitage, Goodlettsville and Brentwood are inside half an hour. Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, Smyrna, Franklin and Nolensville are half an hour to forty minutes depending on the hour you pick.
Then there are the real drives. Murfreesboro is thirty-four miles down I-24 and gets booked as a full day in Rutherford County rather than a run out and back. Lebanon is usually the second stop on a Wilson County day. Spring Hill can lose twenty minutes to the Duplex Road corridor without warning. Dickson is forty miles west with two-lane at both ends and is scheduled as its own dedicated trip. We would rather tell you that up front and give you a real date than promise same-day coverage across nine counties and then reschedule you twice.
